Ezra Yant

Glass Blowing

Ezra Yant is an artist based in Southwest Georgia that specializes in blown, handcrafted glass.  He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Georgia Southwestern State University and is pursuing a career in glass art and glass technology.

Ezra is active across the East coast as an educator of glass art.  He has taught classes for his local community, public demonstrations, as well as leading a hands-on program for teen campers at Hidden Valley Camp Maine during the summer.

Ezra’s work explores the library of technical approaches as he continues to grow and further understand the material.  He focuses on grinding and polishing the surface of the glass to reveal greater visual depth.   Ezra also incorporates different designs and patterns into his pieces using canes and murrine to create lines and layered patterns, respectively.  He aims to always allow the material space to show its properties as it flows on the pipe and is formed.

Currently, Ezra is located in Americus, Georgia working at Mobile Glassblowing Studios, LLC and is gaining a greater understanding of the processes that contribute to quality equipment and quality glass.
