Tammy Wenderlich is an illustrator and textile artist in Corrales, New Mexico who finds inspiration in the vibrant culture and high desert environment of central New Mexico.
Her work begins with mixed-media mono-prints created with many layers of stencils, stamps and color. These prints, along with a notebook full of sketches and ideas, are used to create digital repeating patterns and illustrations. The patterns are printed on fabric (used to create home accessories) or paper (prints, cards and books).
Together with her husband Neal, a woodworker, Tammy owns Desert Bird Mercantile with a retail store in Albuquerque’s Old Town for handmade home goods.
